Helene Fiegl
For me, art is the opportunity to see the familiar with new eyes and thereby place it in a new context."- Helene Fiegl
Seeing the familiar with new eyes and elevating it through artistic exploration—this is the guiding principle in the works of Helene Fiegl. Reality serves as her inspiration but not as her motif. It is about the personal interpretation of what is seen—the interplay of line, color, shape, and emotions.
While her depictions are rooted in reality, this reality is partially dissolved and transferred into a more or less free language of color and form. Particularly in her drawings, the playful use of lines is given ample space.
Helene Fiegl prefers working with acrylic, ink, graphite, and pastels. She enjoys combining and layering various techniques. Through collages or text fragments, she creates new contexts that invite viewers to take a closer look. She is not afraid to explore experimental approaches.
Helene Fiegl is a self-taught artist. She originally studied art history and works in the media field. Despite some interruptions, she has managed to stay true to her artistic ambitions, deepening them through courses and workshops with various instructors.
Her works are showcased in national and international exhibitions and art fairs, such as:
